Eirwen Harbottle

Eirwen Harbottle’s main concerns are developing a holistic approach to global security and peace and empowering young people to play a responsible role in the process.

After the death of her husband and co-worker for peace, Brigadier Michael Harbottle, she became Coordinator of the group of retired flag rank officers created by him in 1984, originally known as “Generals for Peace and Disarmament – an NGO accredited to the UN & nominated for the UN ‘Messenger for Peace’ award in 1986.

She is a member of the group of volunteers supporting John McDonnell MP in creating a Ministry for Peace in UK: www.ministryforpeace,org.uk .

She is also Chair of Trustees of Peace Child International – www.peacechild.org -  and an energetic participant in many of its activities.
